We have been fighting for justice since the day Umar Naseer closed down the party office in August 2009. Since then, we were denied the access to the party office, though we did our best to solve the situation peacefully and silently without any media hype. But Umar Naseer did all he can to demoralize us and abolish the party at any cost.
He then made a cosmetic council and decided to abolish the party and did what he thought was legitimate. We were wondering and so confident that we would win the case under any circumstances as he was doing everything against the code of conduct of IDP. We filed a case against cosmetic decision of Umar Naseer and co in the Election Commission with all necessary documents to prove that it was totally illegimate.
Finally, Election Commission declared its verdict and now its final and Umar Naseer has to go to the court if he wishes to challenge the decision of the Election Commission. We are sure that, Umar Naseer won’t challenge because, he has already lost the battle with us and he has nothing to do with IDP. Thus, he himself proven that he is a sore loser.

when was that insane joker a winner. He is a lame excuse in modern democracy, maybe he might do well in a cage with chimpanzee's. Even then they will outsmart the poor bugger.

A good riddance for Umar first. He will regret departure from this party for sure. But that is only if this party does real politics rather than appear on paper for just the sake of earing a yearly sum of money from the govt. This party like all other parties has to get involved in public debate, in the welfare of the country. Just disagreeing and calling for resignation of people will not win public support for any party now. People are fed up with both types of parties now.
The first type is the personality-cult-type like DRP and IDP when Umar was in party. Now that people reject that system Maummoon also realized it and quietly went aside.
The other system is the mob-styled-forever-shouting type of party like MDP which enjoyed a lucky moment when people were united against Maumoon and voted with them. Now there is no Maumoon in power and MDP will face huge challenge next time. And to be a challenge for MDP, all and any party which engages in politics will have to do real politics and appear to be doing so.
Another aspect of IDP, if its willing to be true to its name is to emphasize its loyalty the the first letter of the abbreviation IDP. I is for Islam and IDP better do something to show that this letter "I" is there for a reason and that they love this cause that is Islam. Just putting up a letter to mislead and fool common people to vote for the party using Islam as a front is the height of dishonesty people will not forgive easily.
